Custom Orders
We fulfill custom orders in our workshop, in Bali. Headed by Wayne Cook (one of the 3 partners), we have around a dozen woodworkers on hand who use the traditional methods of crafting and carving. We create furniture using antique wood from reconditioned pieces. All constructing is handled with chisel and mallet, creating joints that interlock and dowel together. This construction is the most durable for wear, and also the most tedious to create. Teak is the most popular wood for our clients to order a piece in, because of its long life in any conditions. Palm wood is also an established wood for furniture in Indonesia. Is has a truly interesting grain that is striped when seen from the side, and spotted when seen from the above. The palm wood is best indoors, or under a canopied patio, since it is not impervious to water as teak is.
