Columbus & Cook, Ltd. opened its doors in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico in the summer of
'94. There, we concentrated our efforts solely on artifacts and art from Indonesia -
especially Borneo, Irian Jaya, Timor, Sumba, Bali and Java. In Fall of '95, we relocated
to the town of Vero Beach, on the eastern coast of central Florida. Here we have expanded
into what we think of as the 'livable arts', or highly carved and finely finished
furniture, and antiques, as well as the arts and artifacts.
Our showroom consists of the finest
antiques and products collected from the Far East and South Pacific. On display are a
number of furnishings, art, artifacts, decor, garden stones and architectural elements, to
name a few. All of our restorations of antiques are done in our workshop in Bali using
traditional techniques and finishes to maintain authenticity. The finishing process
includes six layers of four different types of oil finishes, to produce a natural patina
that has no equal.
Our 4000 sq. ft. gallery includes pieces
from Dutch and British plantations, Southeast Asian pieces, and Pacific Rim pieces of
Indian, Chinese, tribal and Middle Eastern influences. Feel free to contact us; we'll be
glad to help you ~Enjoy the Art of Living~.
